Impactful Projects Driving Sustainable Change

Through strategic intervention and careful consideration of local dynamics, these projects demonstrate DeveloAid’s ability to navigate complex challenges while fostering lasting positive change. Our work spans from grassroots community engagement to high-level institutional development, each contributing to our vision of resilient, peaceful communities.

Women-Led Water Mediation Learning Tools – Sanad 3 Project

DeveloAID, through its founder and lead consultant, is leading the development of three interconnected educational products to document and strengthen women-led local mediation in Yemen’s water sector. Commissioned under the Sanad 3 initiative, this assignment aims to translate field realities in Taiz into accessible learning and training tools that elevate local efforts to address resource-based conflicts.

Key Highlights:

  • Focus: Documenting and simulating grassroots mediation experiences led by women to resolve water-related disputes in Taiz.
  • Approach: Grounded in a case study, the project produces a practical simulation guide and a concise briefing paper for external stakeholders.
  • Objectives:  Capture real-world mediation processes, develop a facilitation manual, and design an accessible narrative to engage a wider audience.
  • Expected Outcomes: A set of high-quality Arabic-English resources that deepen understanding of local mediation efforts, support inclusive training, and promote gender-sensitive conflict resolution practices in fragile settings.

Rethinking Yemen’s Economy (RYE) – Final Impact Evaluation

DeveloAID, through its lead consultant, has been commissioned to conduct the external impact evaluation of the third and final phase of the Rethinking Yemen’s Economy (RYE3) initiative. Funded by the European Union and led by CARPO, this evaluation assesses how RYE’s evidence-based policy recommendations have influenced sustainable development and economic peacebuilding in Yemen since the initiative’s inception in 2017.

Key Highlights:

  • Scope: A comprehensive impact assessment covering all three RYE phases (2017–2025), focusing on policy uptake, civil society engagement, and long-term influence.
  • Approach: Mapping and quantifying the influence of RYE’s outputs—policy briefs, consultations, and public engagements—on national, regional, and international actors.
  • Objectives: Evaluate the extent to which RYE recommendations have been adopted in strategies, laws, and programs by governments, donors, and international institutions.
  • Expected Outcomes: A robust evaluation report validating RYE’s role in shaping inclusive policies, with specific attention to women’s and youth voices, and offering strategic insights on the institutionalization and sustainability of the Development Champions Forum.

Crisis Leadership in Syria

DeveloAID is delivering a tailored Crisis Leadership Program (CLP) to strengthen the capabilities of Syrian responders operating in one of the world’s most complex humanitarian and political crises. Designed to navigate the realities of protracted conflict, fragmented governance, and recurring emergencies, the program empowers frontline actors with the leadership tools needed to respond effectively and collaboratively.

Key Highlights:

  • Structure: A blended format combining virtual group sessions, expert-led masterclasses, and an intensive five-day workshop.

  • Content: Focused on crisis leadership under pressure, coordination in contested spaces, and strategic decision-making in fluid, high-risk environments.

  • Participants: Syrian professionals from civil society, humanitarian, and local governance sectors—promoting cross-sector peer learning and coordination.

  • Impact: Enhancing leadership resilience and operational effectiveness to support localized, context-sensitive crisis response in Syria’s dynamic landscape.

DeveloAID, through its lead consultant, is delivering a hands-on project design and proposal development program in partnership with the Women’s Center for Research and Training at the University of Aden. The initiative equips six women-led groups with practical skills to design impactful, fundable projects focused on peacebuilding and community development in Yemen.

Key Highlights:

  • Focus: Enhancing the technical capacity of women to independently develop concept notes and full project proposals aligned with donor expectations.

  • Approach: A guided, multi-stage process including in-person and virtual coaching, written feedback, and peer learning to ensure iterative improvement.

  • Structure:

    • Phase 1: Concept note development with group-specific mentoring and feedback loops.
    • Phase 2: Full proposal writing supported by individualized review sessions.
    • Phase 3: Final proposal refinement and submission, followed by a joint learning session.
